Otto Eichinger (Austrian, 1922–2004)

Monk sipping wine

Oil on Board

Signed upper left: "O. Eichinger"

Verso with small bio on the artist and several stamps

Provenance:  Private collection, Westfield, NJ

Probably purchased from the Findlay Galleries in the 1950s, as other paintings were marked.

Condition:  Some water staining to the linen frame lining.  Bright vivid colors.  Excellent quality framing.

I am listing a group of German oil paintings all coming from a single estate collection.  These were amassed by a very wealthy Westfield, NJ family who was buying from Finlay Galleries in the 1950s and 1960s.  These are all fresh to the market, having descended in the family.  These elaboratly framed portraits are great investments, as their popularity seems to be on the rise.  Please look at my other auctions for more of these paintings.

Measurements:
10 1/2" H x 8" W Sight line
17" H x 14 1/2" W Frame
