Silas Seandel (American, born 1937) (Attributed)

Sculptural Fountain

Patinated Brass, Bronze, Copper

Fountain custom made for a large wealthy estate in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ circa 1970.  Fountain is unmarked, but the estate was professionally decorated by a well known NYC decorator who furnished the home with Harvey Probber, Paul Evans, and many brutalist sculptures.  Attributed to Seandel, but has not been authenticated.  He produced fountains similar to this which were not marked.

Fountain is in working order and comes with a pump.  The water flows through a series of plastic tubes and put through the flower stems.  The water fills in the lower petals and falls onto the lily pads and into the basin.

Condition:  The metal has gone through years of oxidation /rust, which could be cleaned up.  General calcium build up from sitting water.  Fountain has always been inside, but could possibly go outside.  The Basin does not leak and the fountain works well.  Makes a delightful sound as the water flows through.  There is a series of valves that allows you to use as many or as few of the flowers as you would like.

ONE PIECE AND HEAVY!  Does not come apart.  It is the shape of a piano.
