Five drawer chest with brass pulls fresh from the estate of an early American family. Excellent proportions. Solid board top, double twist pilasters on unusual beehive feet. Fine Mahogany book-matched veneers to drawer fronts.
Provenance: Fresh to the market from the family of Ellsworth Torrey of Weymouth, MA. Shipping label on verso from Kennebunkport, ME in 1924, at which time it traveled to Short Hills, NJ.
Condition: Old refinish. All drawers open and close with ease, very well made. Shrinkage crack to top board and slight warping at edges of top. Minor missing veneer. Chipping to feet.
