A Gothic Revival Mahogany Bookcase Cabinet, American Empire, c1850

This is one of a group of American antiques directly from a wealthy local estate where they passed down in the family.  This piece has been in New Jersey since the early 20th century, but the family first lived in Rhode Island in the 19th century.

Gothic revival detailing to this mahogany veneered cabinet with two glazed doors, a single apron drawer and lower case cabinet.  All original glass.  Two pieces.  c1850.

Condition:  Feet have been reworked and repaired over the years, should be handled with care.  Piece was refinished in the last 40 years, which would havebeen very expensive.  Includes original key, locks are functional.  Would look ideal in a library or a formal dining room.

Measurements:  78″H x 47″W x 18-1/2″D, Upper portion: 9-1/2″D
