Louis XV Carved Fruitwood Footstool Converted to Coffee Table w/ Red Marble
A fine quality French country carved fruitwood footstool with a custom red marble inset top. Coming directly from a wealthy NYC family who owned many fine period French antiques. This is possibly a late 18th, early 19th century example.
Makes an excellent coffee table, but can also be converted back into a bench with an upholstered slip seat.
The lines and proportions are excellent. Great patina.
Condition: Overall very good. Normal light wear from use. The wooden portion is a bit creaky, but does not wobble. I would suggest having the joints reguled if you convert it into a footstool again.
